Dear Viewer,
Thank you for stopping by.
For such a large portion of my life, I did not receive the support I needed because of the stigma and shame surrounding PCOS.
Both my doctors and my family misunderstood the basis of the condition and taught me to believe that gaining weight triggered the syndrome, rather than understanding the genetics and symptoms (weight gain being one of them).
Having PCOS is not your fault or your doing; you are not your PCOS.
If you are a fellow sufferer of this condition, or a family member looking for a place to start, or even just a person who is curious about the condition, I hope you find the information you are looking for (and more). If not, please do not hesitate to reach out and request any additional information from our staff.
I would like to request some ground rules for our posts: our staff and our writers are human. If we make errors, please e-mail us and we will correct any information that was presented incorrectly.
Personal Experience/Opinion pieces are written to express the frustrations and the victories that come with living with this chronic syndrome. Many of us struggle with this lifelong condition; the purpose of these pieces is to help show what we go through in our daily lives. It may be helpful for those who do not have PCOS to understand us more. Please do not put down our writers for discussing their emotions. If you have any concerns about the material being published, please e-mail us and we will respond to you as soon as we are able.
Please remember that this site aims to bring positivity in the lives of those that suffer from PCOS. Our published pieces may not always have a positive voice, but we hope to provide a safe space to talk to our community and the public about this condition. We aim to raise awareness about the condition and to help lessen misinformation regarding it.
Thank you for your time. I hope you find comfort, or information, or both!
